August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and while immunizations have significantly reduced the incidence of many serious infectious diseases, vaccination rates for some diseases are not meeting national public health goals. Approximately 300,000 Americans are diagnosed with Lyme disease annually, 450 new cases in NY alone last year. Learn more about how to protect yourself against ticks and Lyme Disease.                                                                  


LYME DISEASE... in Chemung County.  A recent tick survey of a public park area showed almost half of the ticks collected were infected with the bacteria capable of causing Lyme Disease.  For more information, click HERE.

We are located at 103 Washington Street, Elmira, New York.  Our campus consists of the John C. Gridley Health Center and the Peter Chalk PavilionEnvironmental Health Services (737-2019) and Vital Statistics (737-2018) are both located in the Chalk Pavilion.
